NAM Sandwich (“the app”) is a guitar amp-modeling app. We designed the app to be private by default: your playing and your settings stay on your device. This policy explains exactly what the app accesses, why, and what leaves your device (very little).
The app needs microphone access to receive your instrument signal (typically through an audio interface) so it can run it through the amp models in real time. This audio is processed live, in memory, on your device. It is not recorded to a file, not saved, and not sent anywhere. Turning off microphone permission simply stops audio from flowing through the app.
The app can browse and download .nam and impulse-response files from
Tone3000 (tone3000.com). This happens only when you tap to sign in or download:
We do not send your personal information to Tone3000 beyond what its sign-in flow requires, and we do not receive your Tone3000 account details.
If you purchase a subscription, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store using your Apple ID. We do not receive or store your name, payment card, or billing details. Apple’s privacy policy governs that purchase. We only receive the anonymous subscription status Apple provides so the app can unlock paid functionality.
Your downloaded captures and IR files, your saved sandwiches (presets), performance slots, and app settings are stored locally on your device using Apple’s on-device storage. This data is not uploaded to us or to any third party.
Note on iCloud: This version of the app does not sync your library to iCloud. A future version may offer optional iCloud sync (stored in your private iCloud database under your Apple ID); if and when that ships, this policy will be updated to describe it.
Because your captures, presets, and settings live on your device, you control them directly. You can delete individual captures and sandwiches in the app, and deleting the app removes all of its locally stored data. Files you downloaded from Tone3000 are stored locally and are removed when you delete them or delete the app.
The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app collects no personal information from any user as described above.
Network requests the app makes (to Tone3000 and Apple) use encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections. Locally stored data is protected by your device’s standard security and file protection.
If we change how the app handles data (for example, when optional iCloud sync is added), we will update this policy and revise the “Last updated” date above.
